      Hey there - thanks for watching and for the kind words. I suggest trying the following if you’re having this issue: 1) log out of the shot scope app (don’t just close it down) 2) fully close the app on your phone 3) switch the watch off and back on again 4) launch the app and log back in 5) try to sync the course again Try these steps and if they don’t work, let me know and I’ll give you further steps that should hopefully help you out! Cheers

    What happened at 14:15? Went from 353 yard p4 then when you switched to the hazards it went 366, 400 and farther?! Then the layup confused me also with 150/412 and 100/386, is that hit the first and have the second left? On a p4 353 yard hole?

      Hey there. This is just because I was creating this tutorial from my garden, not at the golf course. I live across the road from my course, so I'm able to obtain a connection and create these videos from my garden. The slightly wonky numbers are simply due to my location relative to some of the holes. for example, my house is located behind the 1st and 2nd holes, so things like yardages to front/back or hazards would be back to front. The tutorial is more about just showing how the watch works and how users can navigate the menus. Absolutely no issues with the G5 numbers when used on the course - as explained in my separate full review video (also on my channel). Hope that explains things! :)

    There's a golf course around where usually go for a walk, found 3 golf balls without any uv torch. Golf balls definitely go for some coin, each were about $3-4 as I checked online. Could be an alright side gig, didnt even check the driving range or anything yet!

    • @AndysGolfBlog
      @AndysGolfBlog 26 дней назад

      You'll probably struggle to get $3-4 unless they're a decent ball and in great condition but you could try. I think most people have job selling bundles of mixed balls. In truth, I don't personally see doing this as a business unless you live near a course where thousands of balls are being lost, and even then, it's probably more hassle than it's worth. But, as a way of topping up your ball supply for the range of winter golf, it's worth considering...and it's good for exercise!

    Hi Andy I asked a question about distance measures on the X5 watch on the Shotscope Facebook page, but something went wrong and froze me out, probably me? Anyway, I tried to upload a screenshot from my app, which showed using the watch from our range bay at my home course. I had just bought the X5 so was logging in (play golf ) at my course. Went on the range and hit a 100 balls as usual. Then noticed later on that it had recorded a shot from the range, but from the first tee to the range bay, then another shot from the range bay onto the 1st Green and 2 putts, hence my original question on Facebook. Can you explain, please?

    • @AndysGolfBlog
      @AndysGolfBlog Месяц назад

      Hi Tony. Essentially, the X5 should only be used on the golf course and not on the range, especially when warming up or hitting balls. If I hit balls before I play then I don’t initiate my round until I’m on the first tee. If you do start a round early then do some warming up on the driving range or practise area, make sure you pause the watch from the menu before hitting balls, then unpause when on the first tee before you hit your tee shot. That way, no shots made before you play your round will be captured. For your round that hasn’t been captured correctly, specifically the first hole, you’ll be able to edit it to match how you actually played the hole using the desktop or mobile editing tools. I have two video tutorials explaining how to use both of those tools in case you want to check them out. Hope that makes sense! Cheers, Andy

    • @tonylittle8732
      @tonylittle8732 Месяц назад

      Andy Thanks for your swift response. My original question was can you use the watch to show distances on the range? People commented on the Facebook page that you couldn't. But as I stated it did show the shot from the range onto the green. I know it was by accident, me not pausing the watch. But why can this not be part of the shotscope system, allowing practice distance shots?

    • @AndysGolfBlog
      @AndysGolfBlog Месяц назад

      People on the forum would have answered 'no' because they'd likely be thinking of using the device on a standard driving range (which people sometimes ask). Due to the way the device works, if you can't collect your ball at the range then the device can't work out how far you've hit it. That said, I've used my X5 a few times at my home course's driving range by entering GPS only mode (this works because the driving range is within 1KM of my course), hitting my balls and activating the 'Last Shot' option. I'd then walk to where the rough average distance would be for those balls and write down the distance displayed on the watch. In truth, the watch is designed to tell you how far you hit your clubs over a period of time, so it's actually a lot easier just to play a good few rounds and then see what your performance average is across your bag. It's worth noting that these yardages are always going to full shot yardages with rollout and not carry, and rely on GPS accuracy which is around 6-10 ft. If you're looking to be really anal about club distances, booking a club gapping session on a simulator or getting a device like a FlightScope Mevo will provide more accurate distances, and will give you carry numbers and full shot. Hope this helps!

    I have just received lake golf balls yesterday, a bunch of Nike and Callaway balls. There look in great condition. The only problem I see is that they are all different styles: distance, softfeel etc. It's an opportunity to test and make my choice in the style I prefer tho... Next time I may buy only one model like Pro V1 as long as my game improves.

    • @AndysGolfBlog
      @AndysGolfBlog Месяц назад

      Yeah, that’s why I mention In this video that is suggest sticking to one make/model for consistency sake. That said, I really think it depends on what level you’re at and how much money you want to spend. I used to play with a decent 3HC player and he played with a different ball every round. Hard, soft, 2-piece, 3-piece, yellow, orange, black, white - it didn’t matter to him and he still went round close to level par most weeks!

I basically just worked back from bottom to top (highest loft to lowest) in the video. Definitely not too anal on the course!

Also, having the 54 provided another option on the course and worked well for me.

    I put my woods and wedges just the opposite of yours (woods at the bottom of the bag when it's sitting on the ground), mainly so the taller woods do not overhang my irons. In a carry-bag my putter would be at the top of the bag with the wedges. In my cart-bag, it has it's own putter section that holds only the putter. To each his own, whatever is comfortable to each golfer. My irons are set up like yours.

    • @AndysGolfBlog

      Haha class. My cart bag has an individual slots but I might make a video showing that set up. The reason I pop the woods in the top is because it feels easier to me to get the clubs out from beneath them. I almost feel like if the woods at the bottom it might be harder to get to the irons and wedges. One thing that is for certain is that there isn’t one size fits all when it comes to club placement within the golf bag! Haha

    I'm wondering how you deal with the PW/GW gap too.

    • @AndysGolfBlog
      @AndysGolfBlog 2 месяца назад

      Generally not as big an issue. Although my data for 2023 suggests almost 30 yards difference, that’s not really the case. I think the PW data may be off slightly depending on how often I used it or what courses I’ve used it on. Generally speaking, I only get about 120 out of my PW and around 100 with my GW. If I’m looking at 110, I’ll favour a soft PW which will also take some spin off. If I need spin, I’ll go hard with the GW. Generally speaking, I think it’s easier to bridge the gap with wedges than longer irons. Taking a bit off of a PW doesn’t usually have as detrimental effect on flight or direction as a long iron for me. If I try to take something off a long iron, I usually end up pulling it well left. If I try to go hard, I usually end up pushing it! I’m going to produce a new video soon with my carry distances using my flight scope mevo, which will hopefully be a little more up-to-date.

    I just got the V5. It is so good. I love all the features. However I am stuck. I play GPS and Track but at end of round when I try to sync to phone so I can view club info it sticks at 99%. I have 3 rounds on watch history that I cannot see on app. Only score and steps shown on watch. What is correct process pre game and after game to upload game play. Do I need app open all through game ?

      @AndysGolfBlog 2 месяца назад

      Hi Scotty, No, no need to have the app open during your round. The watch stores the data then the GPS information/shot tracking is all compiled when uploaded to the app. If yours is getting to 99% then stopping, I'd suggest doing the following: 1. Uninstall the app from your phone. 2. Go to bluetooth settings on your phone, tap on the V5 from the list and use the 'forget this device' option (IOS) or Android equivalent. 3. Re-install the app and log back into your account. 4. Choose More (bottom right) > Add a New Device > V5. 5. Re-pair your V5 with your phone. 6. Try to sync rounds from your watch to the app once again. If the above steps don't work, drop Shot Scope an email at support@shotscope.com. Let me know how you get on. Hopefully the above steps will work for you, though!

      Strange. I haven't experienced this issue myself to be honest. Do you think the clasp that holds the charger onto the watch isn't tight enough to create a solid contact? If so, might be able to pop a rubber band/hair bobble around it to hold it tighter in place...?

      Hey Claire, With the G5, it shouldn't really make a difference which tees you select as long as your course has been mapped. If you do want Shot Scope to add a red tee set, email support@shotscope.com and provide them with the name of your course and further information. Cheers

    Hi Andy, great video thanks. I tried my new watch for the for the time yesterday. When editing my round I have accidently signed it off is there anyway to undo that and change a few more things?

      @AndysGolfBlog 2 месяца назад

      Hey Kevin. Thank you - glad it helped. Sure, rounds can be re-edited at any point. If using the mobile app, just open the round up again by tapping on it within the 'Rounds' tab, click on the pencil (top-right) and choose Edit. You can then make changes and save. You might find it easier editing using the desktop version of the app. If you've not already view it, I also have a tutorial for that which can be found here: ruclips.net/video/H9-AzPTVCDA/видео.html Give me a shout if you have any other questions. Always more than happy to help folks out!

      Here in Scotland, most courses enforce the use of small artificial grass mats during the winter months to help preserve the fairways due to the wet conditions. You can find out more here: www.andysgolfblog.co.uk/blog/2022/top-5-amazon-winter-golf-mats/

      If it’s on that watch then that’s all you should have to worry about. However, you should also be able to subscribe to the course and roll out updates to your device. If you’ve checked within the app and it’s not there (in neither courses or subscribed) then best to contact shot scope to ask if they can look into it.

    Andy - Do you know if the Shot Scope putter sensor needs a special attachment for Super Stroke putter grips? I am a former Arccos user and I needed to purchase a special attachment for the putter sensor due to the SS grip.

    • @AndysGolfBlog
      @AndysGolfBlog 2 месяца назад

      Hi Brian, The tag that will be supplied will need to be modified to work with the SS putter. I've previously owned one and I cut the screw off and glued it to the top, on top of the weight. Instead of gluing, you could try a little bit of silicone sealant or 3M tape. Shot scope also sell a set of 3 putter tags, 2 pre cut and one normal for £19.99: bit.ly/4arTCtg. You can save 15% using my code 'ANDYSGOLF' if you are ordering them. The two pre-cut tags come with 3M tape I believe, so can just be stuck on. The only other solution is to go tagless, but put the watch into manual tagging mode. You can then press the button on the watch when at the location of each putt. Not quite as handy as auto putting but saves you altering or buying new tags. Personally, I'd recommend trying to modify or buying the tags though as I think automatic tracking is far more appealing than needing to manually tag putts - but at least you now know of both options. Let me know if you have any other questions at all. Cheers, Andy

      Thanks for the comment. I can't say this is the same experience I've had using the G5, having tested it over a period of several months. Sometimes, the bluetooth connection between Shot Scope watches and the app can be a bit troublesome, but it's usually easily resolved. If you or anyone else is struggling getting their Shot Scope watch to connect to the app, try this: 1. Log out of the Shot Scope app and close it down. 2. From your mobile device's Bluetooth settings, select the watch and use the 'Forget this device' option (that's for IOS but Android users will have a similar option). 3. Launch and log into the Shot Scope app. 4. Choose More > Add New Device > Watches and select your device. 5. Press 'Continue' and proceed with the onboarding process. 6. Return to 'Rounds' and choose Connect Device. If your watch did only last one round and had an issue, I'm sure Shot Scope were or would be more than happy to assist or refund. I don't think it's fair to call it a crap watch as the watch itself is actually a really solid and affordable option, packed with a lot of useful features, especially at that price. Anyway, you're only going by your own experience but hope that the above steps help you or anyone else experiencing issues out. Cheers, Andy
